Young Amelia liked living in colonial Fredericksburg and she was happy working for Mr. and Mrs. Brown. She had bigger dreams, however, for her future. It wouldn’t be easy, since she was an orphan, a servant, and, worst of all, a girl. In 1771 Virginia,girl’s didn’t do the kind of things that Amelia dreamed of.
